This is an oasis of water, but it's beauty is deceiving, Deadly sand creatures and thieves.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Okay and I believe I've heard that and well still quite a lot of the disney movies, most as far as I know, at least of the famous ones they were actually created from stories written by a danish author, true a rather famous one but still ^^ A few of the short ones, those like... 5-10 minute clips like the mickey mouse kinds, a few of those are actually also some of his :P
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: We can do that :P
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: hrmm... I never knew about that. I know some are Hans Christian Anderson stories and some are Grimm Brothers. But I thought they were both German.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Hans Christian Andersen* and he is danish ^^ Born in Odense where they even have a house/museum dedicated to him and other stuff, there is even a statue of him in Copenhagen central city square or what to call it XP
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: wow, I always thought he was German... then again we did have a movie about him once upon a time. Of course that was in the video casette era and that was when my sisters and I were children. Yeah but I remember the song they had about him visiting Copenhagen.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: *nods* He was after all very fond of theater and the finest one was the royal one in copenhagen where he had most of his friends, but yeah he was too tall and oddly shaped so couldn't get in himself, most of his stories is actually based on how he felt through life and what had happened to him, he wrote well over 100 stories and I don't even know how many poems and rimes and the like o.o
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: (nods) Hans Christian Anderson was definitely one of my favorite fairy tale writers. They're good at teaching important lessons too.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: *nods* That they were and like said they were really actually only stories about his life o.o
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: I can imagine... everyone who's a good writer uses at least something from his or her own life.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: *Nods* Well he based about anything person related and such on his life ^^ But yeah he was a really great writer, know for example one of the disney movies that's based on one of his books?
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: The Little Mermaid
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: That was the story he wrote for the ballerina he liked.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: *smiles and nods* Yeap :P There's more but yeah that's a good one :P
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: that's the only one I can think of. I would say Emperor's New Groove cuz it sounds like The Emperor's New Clothes but the stories weren't at all similar.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Hmmm... Well there is one thing, about the poor little boy or in this case grown man that points out the truth to the emperor but otherwise it isn't really yeah and well Thumbelina or how it's written in english and the ugly duckling, okay the ugly duckling is one of the short things but still XP
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: I don't think I've seen any Disney shorts about the Ugly Duckling, and the only Thumbelina movie I saw wasn't Disney.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Okay o.o The one I got at least is supposed to be disney and well I for the ugly duckling one then I know I've seen it ^^ We had like disney hour in Denmark at least at one point and well seen it on there like dozens of times :p
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: The Thumbelina I remember was done by Don Bluth. I don't recall any Disney Thumbelina's though they're coming out with a Rapunzel sometime. There are commercials for it, though I don't know when it's getting into theatres.
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Okay and well at least it's done, thought it was disney's but no matter if it isn't XP
2010-10-05 [Elwyne]: Is the one you saw the one with the song "Let me be your wings" ?
2010-10-05 [KnightAngel]: Hmm... Yeap, oh well was so darn sure it was a disney XP Ah well XD
